I have been filtering through here all day. I have an app that registers tasks for one of our applications. I want to add a check box that will represent the present/not present status of the task. but I can't find or figure out how to do that for one service. Can anyone assist or at least enlighten me.

If by "present/not present" status you mean if the task is registered on the system, you can find that by using the TaskService.FindTask("taskname") method. It will look through all folders and try to find the specified task. If not found, the method returns null. If the task is registered and "present/not present" status means that the task is running or ready, then once you have an instance of the Task, then use the State property.
